Maine Financial Aid
State grants, eligibility, deadlines, and strategies for Maine students
Maine offers the Maine State Grant through the Finance Authority of Maine (FAME) for need-based assistance. While the grant amounts are relatively modest, FAME also administers various scholarship programs and student loan options. Maine students may benefit from New England regional tuition agreements.

Maine State Grant amounts are modest — combine them with federal Pell Grants and institutional scholarships for the best financial aid package.
Maine participates in the New England Regional Student Program — you may be eligible for reduced tuition at public universities in other New England states for certain majors.
FAME offers low-interest education loans that can supplement grants — but exhaust all grant and scholarship options before borrowing.
